On 28 May 2026, Better Health For All (BEHFA), in partnership with MBOSCUDA, marked World Menstrual Hygiene Day with a community outreach session in Quartier Hausa, Bafoussam.
The session brought together 22 participants (19 women and 3 men), creating a safe space for open dialogue on menstrual health—an issue often affected by stigma and silence. Participants received practical training on reusable sanitary pad production, basic sterilization methods, and simple hygiene product preparation such as bleach.
By the end of the session, over 80% of participants expressed interest in applying these skills for income generation and improved household well-being. A local women’s group (CIG) also showed strong interest in sustaining and expanding the initiative.
The activity created a powerful shift—from silence to confidence—and reinforced BEHFA’s commitment to combining health education with practical skills that restore dignity and improve livelihoods.
